Excellent range of beers. We visited for lunch and that was superb but make sure you are hungry because the portions are large. We will be returning very soon.

A nice pub we have visited over the last 12 years whenever we are on holiday here. I feel a little disappointed with the village inn on our last visit. The menu seems to have less choice and the specials board was mostly sold out, even though we visited late afternoon. The food was just basic with not many dishes having a small portion of veg or salad. It's chicken and chips no side garnish, same with the steak and chips. The food was served really quick and the staff were friendly.
My husband and I had a meal here just over a year ago which was disappointing. A year on we decided to try it again to see if things had improved, but sadly not.We ate outside in the beer garden. The wooden tables were tired and in need of a good clean. Both of us ordered the special Wild Boar burgers which were served on a toasted bun with coleslaw, relish and chips. The food was hot and there was plenty of chips, but the burger was bland. For the price I expected better. It would not take much to improve this meal ..... better buns, home made chips and burgers.On a plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful, although no one asked us if everything was alright with our meals, even when they came to take our plates away. If they had maybe this feedback would have been direct and not on this review.
