I needed a Doctors Home visit as the Blood clott on my leg opened up and I'm housebound unable to attend the surgery! I had this Doctor Hugh Powell come he was very rude and unhelpful and he said you can get to the Surgery and have your leg bandaged but I told him if I tried to get up there I'd fall over and end up in the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital! In the end I did get a District Nurse who bandaged my leg and Antibiotics to make me better. What I don't appreciate is a Doctor who is extremely rude and unhelpful as I had Doctor Chapman for years he was kind and helpful but Doctor Hugh Powell I will never be see him again as he's a nasty rude man who must realise you cant treat patients like that no way!
Very hard to get through on the phone, you can only ring up to book appointments and only between 8 and 12Ive had to ring over 100 times a few times to even get throughThey have no online booking system which would relieve the receptionist A LOTAlso once you have an appointment its not guaranteed they will take you seriously
On the whole a very good surgery, and they have many great doctors and Nurses. The receptionists are very welcoming, helpful and efficient. It has it's own pharmacy who are also very welcoming, helpful and swift. There is just one little thing that I think could be run differently, they are very busy and have an awful lot of doctors. When you first sign up you are immediately assigned 1 or 2 doctors. Where as I would feel a lot better if at 1st we were assigned 1 Doctor based on your regular needs at the time. Then after a few visits, it would be good if we could choose a 2nd one ourselves. Even if that meant going out on a waiting list for popular doctors, while being with a temporary 1 of your own choice. That way it would feel a lot more personal, if we only saw 2 doctors, who both became to no more about our history & current needs. As it can get a bit confusing seeing many different doctors as it's not always possible to see ones you know. I would still give this surgery 10 out of 10, as they are one of the best I've been to. I would just like to add a big thank you to Dr Farthing for being such a kind, professional, understanding and very Doctor. As I realise I'm not an easy patient, due to many ailments.
